Peugeot Partner check engine light VANOS issue

Hi, I've got a 2021 Peugeot Partner gasoline with 173785 km on the clock. The check engine light comes on and fuel consumption is higher than normal. I suspect a faulty inlet VANOS. I've read it could be the camshaft solenoid valves or power supply. Anyone else had this?

I had something similar on my Partner. Check engine light and a noticeable dip in power. I didn't check the VANOS specifically, but it turned out to be related to the camshaft timing. Did you notice any loss of power?

Yes, there's definitely a bit of power loss, especially when accelerating uphill. You mentioned camshaft timing, was it a faulty sensor or something more serious like the timing chain?

For me, it wasn't the timing chain itself, but a problem with the camshaft solenoid valve. It's probably best to get it checked at a workshop, they can properly diagnose it. This should point you to the problematic area.

Thanks, that's helpful! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the inlet camshaft solenoid valve. Repair cost was around 250€. All sorted now!
