I have not checked the cable. Where is it exactly? Should I inspect this myself, or go to a mechanic right away?

The cable runs from the sensor to the engine control unit. Check for damage or corrosion. I'd advise a trusted workshop with diagnostic tools to verify functionality and replace the component if needed. It saved me a lot of hassle when I did that.

Thanks for the tip! It was a defective cable/plug connection like you said. The workshop charged me 95€ to replace it. The RCZ is purring like a kitten. I appreciate your help!

I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane, but it was a moisture sensor in the fuel filter. The symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the sensor? A bad connection can trigger errors even if the sensor is fine.
