Peugeot Rifter boost pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Peugeot Rifter with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the boost pressure system, leading to a check engine light, reduced engine power, stalling, increased fuel consumption, and unusual noises during acceleration. The problem might be related to the wastegate valve, MAP sensor, or turbocharger. A similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty wastegate valve, which restored normal vehicle performance.

Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate it. Where exactly did you hear the hissing sound? And was it constant, or only under acceleration? Because I was thinking the turbo lag is incredibly bad right now, I am not sure whether it is related to the wastegate or something else, could you please elaborate on that?

The hissing was definitely worse under acceleration. I initially thought it was a boost leak, but it turned out to be a faulty wastegate valve. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Cheers! Workshop it is then. Just got the final bill: 860€ for a new wastegate valve, but finally everything is working as it should again!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my Rifter, though I never pinpointed the exact build year. Reduced power, hissing sounds... I even thought the turbo was about to explode. Did you check the pressure sensor? It may be faulty.
