Peugeot Rifter Fog Sensor Issue

Thanks for the detailed response! I haven't checked the humidity sensor specifically, or attempted any recalibration. I'll have a look. But if the humidity sensor is at fault, would that really explain the frozen spray nozzles and non-functional mirror heating? It seems a bit far-fetched, doesn't it?

While I understand your skepticism, it's crucial to remember that modern vehicles integrate numerous systems, and a single sensor malfunction can have cascading effects. The Body Control Module (BCM), for example, often relies on various sensor inputs, including humidity and temperature, to manage functions like mirror heating and even windshield washer nozzle heating to prevent freezing. Given the error code related to the fog sensor and the shared symptoms, the defective cable or plug connection of the component is most probable. However, I would suggest taking it to a workshop; an experienced technician will be able to properly diagnose the issue and verify my suspicion.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I took it to the local mechanic, and you were spot on! It was indeed a defective cable connection to the fog sensor. Repair cost was 95€. Everything is working as it should now.

Interesting symptoms you're describing. While seemingly disparate, the fact that they all appeared around the same time does suggest a common point of failure, likely related to a shared electrical circuit or control module. Regarding the fog sensor, are you certain the ambient humidity sensor is functioning correctly? A faulty humidity sensor can indeed affect the air conditioning system, as modern vehicles often use this input to optimize compressor operation and prevent condensation buildup. Has the sensor been calibrated recently, or have you checked for any obvious signs of corrosion or damage to the wiring harness leading to it?
