Peugeot Traveller torque converter failure

My 2019 Peugeot Traveller, diesel engine, with 33505 km is showing some concerning symptoms. The check engine light and transmission indicator are illuminated. The gearbox slips, shifts roughly, and makes grinding noises. Error memory points to a defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch. Thoughts? Is converter failure common on these?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Volvo V70. Check engine light, weird shifting, the whole nine yards. Any chance it's just low on transmission fluid? Or maybe a bad sensor throwing things off?

Fluid level is fine, and sensors seem okay based on initial diagnostics. You mentioned a similar issue on your Volvo. Was it actually the torque converter in the end?

Yep, torque converter it was. Ultimately, there wasn't much else it could have been. Best bet is to get it properly diagnosed at a reputable shop, as it can seriously damage your tranny if left unattended. Hope that helps.
