Pilot electronic parking brake issue
Summary of the thread
The 2010 Honda Pilot's electronic parking brake is unresponsive, with a constant warning light and an error code. The issue might be due to a faulty electric motor in the brake calliper or a malfunctioning brake switch near the pedal. Checking the brake switch first is recommended, as it is a simpler and cheaper fix. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the electric motor in the brake calliper at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'brake switch', are you referring to the one near the pedal, or is there another one specifically for the parking brake mechanism itself? Any tips on how to test it? Appreciate the help!

Yes, I meant the one near the pedal. If that isn't the culprit, you should visit a workshop. I ended up having the electric motor in the brake calliper replaced, and the final repair costs were around 505€. Better to have it checked thoroughly, especially considering vehicle safety.

Thanks for the advice! Ended up going to the workshop as suggested. The mechanic confirmed it was indeed the electric motor in the brake calliper. Replaced it, and everything's working perfectly now. Appreciate the help in narrowing down the possibilities!

I had a similar issue with my Pilot. Annoying, right? Check the brake switch first. A faulty brake switch can cause all sorts of weird electronic glitches, and it's way cheaper than replacing the whole parking brake system. If the switch is OK, you probably have a brake fault. Good luck!
