Pilot keyless entry problems

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2012 Honda Pilot's gasoline engine. I keep getting a "key battery low" warning, even though the car only has 58978 km. Now keyless access no longer works, there's an error stored, and unlocking or locking the car is unreliable. Could the key fob battery really be the issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Honda Pilot is experiencing keyless entry problems, with a "key battery low" warning and unreliable locking/unlocking. The issue is suspected to be related to the key fob battery. After consulting with others and visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed due to a low battery in the key fob, which was resolved by replacing it.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar problem with my Pilot. Is it completely dead? Meaning, it won't even unlock when you're standing right next to it? What kind of error code are you seeing?

Yes, exactly. The keyless entry is completely unresponsive, even when I'm right next to the car. I am not sure about the error code, I would need to get it read out. Is this likely the battery?

Sounds extremely familiar. While it could be something else, the battery is the prime suspect. If it were me, I would just go to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right, it was just the battery in the key fob. Cost me 37€, so a simple fix in the end.
