Symptoms were similar, engine light and occasional stalls. Diagnostics pointed to a communication fault. Ended up being a bad connection. Take it to a workshop; they'll sort it out.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar connectivity issue with my old Fiat Punto. Was it a software glitch?
