Platina brake light failure

I'm having trouble with my 2002 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine. The dash shows a 'brake light failure' error, and the brake lights aren't working. There's also an error stored in the error memory and in the infotainment system. I've checked the bulbs, and they seem fine. Any ideas?

Dude, I had something similar happen with my Platina! It scared me when I realized my brake lights weren't working in traffic. For me, it ended up being the brake light switch. Is your car fitted with a faulty switch?

Interesting. Where is the brake light switch located, and is it easy to get to? It sounds like a vehicle safety issue, and I want to get this sorted ASAP. Was the switch replacement straightforward?

It's a safety hazard for sure. As far as I remember, the switch is usually located near the brake pedal assembly. I didn't feel confident enough to fix it myself, so I took it to a local workshop. They handled the switch replacement and I haven't had any problems since. I'd advise you to do the same.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out it was the brake light switch. I managed to fix it myself after watching a video online. It was a user error because I didn't install the switch correctly the first time, and now everything's fine. Appreciate the help!
