Platina engine power loss after chip tuning

My 2003 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine has reduced engine power and the check engine light is on. A diagnostic shows an error stored in the error memory. The car has about 244797 km on it. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Platina a while back. Did you recently get any chip tuning done by a third-party provider? That was the cause of my error code and reduced power. Just curious if you've had anything like that done.

That's interesting! Yes, I did have some chip tuning done a while ago. Could that really be the problem even after all this time?

In my case, it definitely was. The third-party tuning messed with the car computer. The issues didn't surface immediately, but after some time the engine started acting up and throwing codes. I'd recommend having a workshop check the car computer. It might be worth reverting to the original settings. Cost me around 180€ to fix. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – the chip tuning was the culprit. They reverted to the original settings, and it fixed the problem. Appreciate the help!
