Platina engine running too rich

My 2006 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine feels like it's running way too rich. Engine power is significantly reduced, the check engine light is on, and the engine runs really rough, especially when accelerating. Fuel consumption has also gone through the roof, and the car jerks when I try to speed up. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Platina. Have you checked your spark plugs and air filter? A clogged air filter can mess with the air-fuel ratio. Also, it might be worth getting your oxygen sensor checked. A faulty O2 sensor can cause the engine to run rich. How many kilometers are on your Platina?

Thanks for the tips! I haven't checked the oxygen sensor yet. The car has 108604 km on it. Could it really be the injectors?

At that mileage, it's definitely possible. I had a similar mileage when the injection valve failed. While it could also be the intake manifold, catalytic converter or something else related to the air-fuel mixture, the symptoms you described lean towards fuel delivery issues. To be honest, you would need proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact cause. I would suggest taking it to a trusted workshop.

Thanks a lot for your help! After checking everything you said, and a trip to my local mechanic, it turned out to be a defective fuel injector, just as we suspected. The repair cost me around 515€. The car runs smoothly again!
