Platina Fog Sensor Error

I've got a 2003 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine and only 30662 km on the clock. I'm having a weird issue with what I think is the fog sensor. I'm getting an error stored, and the air conditioning won't switch on. Plus, the spray nozzles seem frozen even when it's not THAT cold, and the mirror heating isn't working. Anyone else seen anything like this? I was thinking it might be a simple electrical issue, maybe a bad connection?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem on my old 2012 Opel Astra. The fog sensor threw an error, and it messed with a bunch of other systems. Check the cable and plug connection. It could be a defective component. A friend had corrosion issues on the connector pins.

Interesting! Where exactly should I be looking for this cable and plug connection? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need to take half the dashboard apart?

On the Astra, it was near the base of the windshield, under the cowling. But honestly, with those symptoms, I'd get it checked by a workshop. Could be a simple fix, but messing with the airbag system (if it's connected) isn't worth the risk. I paid around 95€ for my repair.

Okay, thanks! I think I'll take it to a shop then. Good to know about the potential cost too. Hopefully, it's just a loose connection!
