Porsche Macan's Engine Mount Issues: Owner Seeks Help

Hey everyone, my 2014 Porsche Macan Diesel has started developing noticeable engine vibrations lately. I suspect it might be related to the vacuum-controlled engine mount, but I'd like to hear from others who've dealt with similar issues. Has anyone gotten this fixed? What did your workshop find and how did they resolve it? Looking for real experiences and repair solutions. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2016 Porsche Cayenne Diesel a few months ago. I have some experience working on cars, but I usually leave the complex stuff to professionals. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced. Turned out the cable and connector for the engine mount were faulty, causing those annoying vibrations. Took it to my trusted Porsche specialist, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. The fix cost me about 165€, and the vibrations completely disappeared. Could you share more details about when these vibrations occur (idle, driving, or both)? Also, have you noticed any warning lights? This would help me understand if you're dealing with the same problem I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine mainly acts up during idle and when accelerating from a stop. No warning lights so far, and my last service was just 3 months ago at 65348 KM. I'm relieved to hear it might just be the cable and connector, that repair cost sounds much better than what I was imagining! Did your mechanic mention how common this issue is with these engines? I'm curious if it's something I should watch out for in the future.

Hey again! Yeah, I totally get what you're going through now, those symptoms are exactly what I experienced with my Cayenne. When you mentioned the vibrations during idle and acceleration, it's like déjà vu! Actually, my mechanic did mention this is fairly common in VAG diesel engines, especially in the age range our cars are in. He told me he sees it maybe once or twice a month, usually in cars between 60,000-90,000 KM. The vacuum-controlled mounts can start acting up as they age, and the cables/connectors are often the first to go. In my case, after the repair, I haven't had any issues for about 8 months now. Just a heads up though, my mechanic suggested keeping an eye on it during regular services. He said sometimes the other mount might follow suit within a year or two, but it's not guaranteed. I'm at around 72,000 KM now and everything's still running smooth. If you want my advice, since your symptoms match mine so closely, I'd get it checked sooner rather than later. The repair is pretty straightforward, and catching it early prevented any additional wear on other components in my case. Let me know how it goes if you get it fixed!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! It's super helpful to know this is a common issue and not something more serious. I'll definitely get it checked out next week, I've already called my regular Porsche shop and they can fit me in on Tuesday. Really appreciate the heads-up about possibly needing to watch the other mount too. It's good to know what to expect down the road. I'll keep track of the mileage and make sure to mention it during future services. Makes sense to stay on top of these things, especially now that my car's getting older. I'll update the thread once I get it fixed to let everyone know how it went. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it's made me feel a lot better about the whole situation!
