Porter boost sensor cable issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Hyundai Porter diesel exhibited issues such as a check engine light, jerking during acceleration, loud whistling, stalling when idling, increased fuel consumption, and reduced power. The problem was traced to a broken wire at the boost pressure sensor plug. After fixing the cable with new connectors, the issues were resolved, confirming the broken wire as the core problem.

The codes point to a faulty boost sensor, plus implausible signal received. Is it worth replacing the sensor? Maybe the hissing noise is a different problem? It also could point to a faulty cable connection.

If the code reader says boost sensor, and you've got a broken wire, fix that connection first. If the problem is not solved you can still change the sensor. But honestly, with those symptoms, especially the whistling and hissing, and the faulty codes, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Could be more going on than just a sensor.

It was the boost pressure sensor cable! Luckily it was just the cable, some new connectors crimped in place and all is well. Total damage: 95€.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar on my Porter. Check the entire turbo system. Intake manifold and turbocharger itself could be the problem. Any codes from the check engine light?
