Porter diesel crankcase ventilation issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai Porter diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced power, and smoke during acceleration, suspected to be related to the crankcase ventilation valve. The symptoms include struggling on hills and the engine feeling like it's fighting against itself. A similar case was resolved by confirming the problem with a workshop, leading to the replacement of the crankcase ventilation valve, which resolved the issues.

Yeah, hills are a killer! Emissions... haven't checked them lately. Fighting against itself? Mmm, maybe a little. So, you reckon it's definitely the PCV valve? Did you end up replacing yours?

I'm no mechanic, but those were almost the EXACT issues I had with mine. Honestly, after messing with it for a day, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the ventilation thingy and sorted it out pretty quickly. Saved me a ton of headaches. I’d say take it in.

Sounds like the safest bet. Workshop it is! Turns out you were spot on! It was the crankcase ventilation valve, cost me 360€. Thanks for your help!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Porter myself. Was it struggling on hills? I had almost the same symptoms last year. Have you checked your emissions recently? Could be PCV related – is the engine breathing alright, or does it feel like it's fighting against itself?
