Porter fresh air blower failure
Summary of the thread
The fresh air blower in a 2008 Hyundai Porter diesel failed completely, with the motor not functioning and an error code indicating a problem. Initial hopes that it was a simple fuse issue were dashed. A suggestion was made to check the blower motor resistor, but it was ultimately determined that the blower motor itself was faulty. The issue was resolved by replacing the blower motor at a local garage.

Cheers for the quick reply! Just the blower motor that's dead, air con seems fine otherwise. Whereabouts is the blower motor resistor located? Is it easy enough to get to, or am I going to need a contortionist's skills?

Yeah, sounds like the blower motor itself then. The resistor is usually near the blower motor, often under the dash on the passenger side. But honestly, I'd just take it to a decent auto electrician. Saved me a load of hassle!

Okay, cheers for the advice! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on - blower motor was toast. Cost me 365€ all in to get it sorted, but at least I can breathe fresh air again! Thanks for the help!

I had something similar happen in my Porter! Is the air conditioning also affected, or is it just the fan that's not spinning? For me, the whole climate control was acting up. Check the blower motor resistor as well; that can sometimes cause issues before the motor itself gives up the ghost.
