Yes, the steering did get heavy suddenly. No warning lights though, that's what's puzzling me. What exactly was the issue with your Porter's steering?

Mine turned out to be a faulty steering angle sensor too, just like you suspect. The computer couldn't figure out the steering wheel position, messing with the power steering assist. You're probably looking at sensor replacement and wheel alignment. It's best to get it checked at a workshop to confirm.

Thanks for the info! Workshop confirmed the steering angle sensor was faulty. Repair cost 195€. Replacing it fixed the issue.

Hey, I drive a Porter myself! I had something similar happen a while back. The symptoms sound like what I experienced when my electronic stability control started acting up. Did the steering get heavier suddenly? Any warning lights on the dash?
