Porter rough start high fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai Porter diesel with 27,000 kilometers is experiencing higher fuel consumption and rough starts. The issue may be related to the throttle body or throttle position sensor, which could affect engine idle. After consulting a workshop, the problem was identified as a defective throttle valve, possibly linked to the accelerator pedal module, and was resolved with a repair.

Throttle position sensor, huh? Where exactly is that located, and how would I go about checking it? And no the idle is a bit weird now that you mention it.

It's usually attached to the throttle body itself. Honestly, without proper tools, diagnosing it can be tricky. Given the symptoms and what you've tried, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Could be the accelerator pedal module. Better to get it checked properly before it causes more issues.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local workshop, and turns out the throttle valve was defective; they suspect it was a problem with the accelerator pedal module. Cost me 205€ to repair, but at least it's running smoothly now.

I had something similar happen with my Porter. Higher fuel consumption and difficult starts sound familiar. Have you checked the throttle position sensor? That could be the culprit. Is the engine idle normal?
