Possible battery sensor problems with the Audi A5 Diesel 2016

Hello everyone! I need your advice. My 2016 Audi A5 diesel with 165,431 km on the odometer shows some symptoms like longer cold start time, sometimes it doesn't start at all and the battery seems to be weak when starting. Had a bad experience with my garage and assume it could be a battery sensor problem. Have any of you had similar issues and what was your experience with the mechanic fixing it? Thanks in advance!

Hi, well, I drive a 2013 Audi A3, and I actually had similar problems. Cold start problems, occasionally not starting, low battery. My first suspicion was also the battery sensor. But when I went to the garage, it was the alternator and the starter motor. It was a more serious problem, but fortunately didn't require any major repairs. The guys sorted it out quickly and my car has been running smoothly ever since. So, maybe check your starter and alternator too. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the input! Right, I hadn't thought about the alternator or starter. Do you have any idea how much it cost you at the garage? And has anything else come up since then? Best regards!

Hey, yes, I can tell you. In my case, it was ultimately a problem with the battery sensor. A cable connection was broken and had to be repaired. That cost about €155. Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running smoothly again and the problem with the battery sensor has not occurred since. Maybe it's a similar case for you. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, thanks for the information! I'll take my A5 to the garage and specifically point out the battery sensor, starter motor and alternator. Hopefully it's nothing more serious. Your advice was really helpful. When everything is running again, I'll report back here. Best regards!
