Possible crankcase ventilation fault in Seat Ibiza 2018: experience and tips wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Seat Ibiza is experiencing issues potentially linked to a crankcase ventilation fault, including the check engine light, engine stalling, loss of power, rough running, jerking, poor fuel consumption, and shaking at idle. A similar problem was resolved in a 2015 Seat Leon by repairing the crankcase breather, which improved engine performance. The repair process can be time-consuming but effective, and no further issues were reported post-repair. Seeking a reliable mechanic for a similar fix is advised.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Glad your engine is running better now. Your description sounds really similar to what I'm currently going through with my Ibiza. Do you happen to remember what you paid for the repair back then? And were there any other problems that arose after the repair? Looking forward to your answer. Best regards!

Hey, you're welcome! Yes, after the visit to the workshop, the engine is really running smoothly again and the crankcase ventilation fault has been rectified. I paid around €360 for the repair of the crankcase ventilation fault at the time. And as for the question of further problems - fortunately not! Since the repair, everything has gone really smoothly. I was really relieved after all the stress I had before. Hope this helps you! Greetings!

Hey, thank you very much for your detailed answer! That really helps me and gives me some insight into my current situation. It's reassuring to hear that everything has been running smoothly for you since the repair. The cost also seems pretty fair for the work done. I'll probably make an appointment at the garage soon. I wish you a good journey! Greetings!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Seat Leon. Sounds like it could actually be the crankcase ventilation. It was quite a hassle to sort it out for me at the time, but be warned, it's no small job. In my experience, it takes some time to fix. Last time I was at the garage, they told me that the crankcase breather needed to be repaired. There were some symptoms similar to yours, including loss of power and the engine suddenly cutting out. It was definitely a serious issue, but the engine runs much better now. Don't know if it was cheap as I'm not supposed to mention the cost, but the work that was done was really good. Hope this helps you. Greetings!
