Hey, thanks for the tip! I've just had a look and as far as I can tell, the wiring harness looks fine. So far I've driven my Antara about 112490 km and the last service was about three months ago. So the spark plugs should still be quite good. Do you have any other suggestions as to what I could check? I really don't want my car to stall in the middle of the highway... Thanks again in advance, you've really helped me out!

Nice to see that the wiring harness doesn't seem to be the problem. With such a high mileage, however, it could simply be due to wearing parts. Another thing you could perhaps check is the mass air flow sensor. If it is not working properly, this can lead to uneven engine running and loss of power. It could simply be dirty, sometimes just cleaning it helps. Then the symptoms could also point to a defective turbocharger, especially with black smoke and loss of power. Have you ever had the fault memory read out? That might also help to narrow down the fault. So now you have a few things you could check. Good luck with that and I hope you get your car running again! Let me know when you know more.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply and helpful tips. I will definitely check the mass air flow sensor and turbocharger and also have the fault memory read out. With a bit of luck I'll find the culprit. If there's anything new, I'll let you know. It's really great that there are people like you who can help. Thanks for that and see you soon!

Hello, I had a similar problem some time ago with my Opel Zafira, built in 2004. So, I already have a bit of experience with this. It was the wiring harness/plug that was defective. The repair cost me 155.0 euros. I'm not a car professional, but I was able to get the problem solved at a garage. The guys at the garage then replaced the whole part, which took a while, but everything worked out in the end. Maybe you can check if it's the same for you? It definitely wasn't an easy or quick fix, but it did help. To give you more specific advice, could you give a bit more info about your vehicle? How many miles have you done so far, how often have you serviced your car so far and when was the last time the spark plugs were changed? Hope I could help you a little!
