Presage Camshaft Sensor Error

Interesting. I haven't checked the crankshaft sensor yet. Is it difficult to get to on the Presage? And would a faulty crankshaft sensor actually trigger a camshaft sensor error specifically, or would it be more of a general engine code?

It's not too bad to get to, but a bit fiddly. As for the error, yes, a bad crankshaft sensor can definitely mess with the camshaft sensor reading. The engine's computer uses both signals to time everything, and if one is off, it throws everything else out of whack. It's worth investigating, but honestly, given that you've already identified a potential issue with the camshaft sensor's wiring, I'd take it to a workshop. Let them diagnose it properly; you don't want to start replacing parts unnecessarily.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. It turned out to be a corroded connector on the camshaft sensor wiring, just like I suspected. They cleaned it up and replaced the plug. Runs like new now. Total cost was 95€ Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Presage a while back. Same symptoms - poor starting and a noticeable drop in power. That camshaft sensor can be a real pain. Have you checked the crankshaft sensor as well? Sometimes they can cause similar issues and throw off the camshaft sensor reading. Think of it like a drummer losing the beat, and the guitarist starts playing the wrong notes as a result.
