Presage low heating output
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Nissan Presage with a diesel engine was experiencing low heating output, and an error was stored in the error memory. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective water valve or a faulty cable/plug connection. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that both the water valve and the cable/plug connection were the culprits. Replacing the valve resolved the heating issue.

Coolant level seems fine, and I haven't noticed any leaks. Where exactly is this valve located? Maybe I can check the cable and plug connection myself.

It's a bit tricky to get to without the right tools. Honestly, given the error code and low heat, I'd advise getting it checked by a workshop. Could save you a lot of frustration in the long run.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was indeed the water valve and the cable/plug connection. They replaced the valve; total cost was 95€. Heating works perfectly now!

I had a similar issue with my Presage. Sounds familiar. Is your coolant level okay? Have you checked for any signs of a coolant leak around the valve or any wet spots inside the car?
