President high pressure fuel pump issue

I'm having trouble with my 2008 Nissan President with a gasoline engine, currently showing 101399 km. The check engine light came on a few days ago, and the engine stalls sometimes at idle with less power. Diagnostics point to a bad fuel volume regulator. I suspect the high-pressure pump. Has anyone else seen this?

I had similar symptoms with my Nissan President. Check engine light, stalling, and performance dip sound very familiar. It could be a fuel delivery problem. Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure was within spec during initial testing, but I suspect intermittent fluctuations that might not have been caught. What was the diagnosis in your case, and were there any other things I should look for?

It was the high-pressure fuel pump. The initial tests weren't conclusive, but the symptoms got worse. The garage confirmed with a more thorough check, and I had it replaced. You should get it looked at.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to the workshop today, and the high-pressure fuel pump was defective, which caused the regulator to act erratically. Repair cost was 1510€. I appreciate it!
