President transmission oil pressure sensor fault
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Nissan President experienced transmission issues, including a warning light, emergency mode, slipping gears, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. The error memory indicated a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, with low gearbox oil level suspected as a cause. The solution involved topping up the gearbox oil and replacing the faulty sensor, resolving the issue.

That's interesting. When you say similar, was it the same error code related to the pressure sensor? And did you also experience the grinding noises when shifting?

Indeed, it was quite unsettling! If my memory serves me right, the error pointed towards a faulty transmission sensor. As for the grinding noises, I certainly did, especially when the gearbox decided to act temperamental. Considering the similarities, I would strongly advise visiting a qualified workshop; it could save you from further complications.

Thank you for the insight! After checking the gearbox oil level it turned out to be too low. After topping it up and changing the sensor at a cost of 365€ the issue appears to be resolved. I appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction.

Ah, a fellow Nissan enthusiast! While I don't have a President, I drive a Nissan Cima and I recall experiencing a similar transmission issue a while back. The symptoms you describe—slipping, unclean shifts, and that dreaded warning light—sound eerily familiar. Could it be the transmission sensor acting up, perhaps due to a pressure gauge malfunction?
