Previa central locking failure

Central locking on my 2004 Toyota Previa diesel has stopped working. Neither the fob nor the interior switch works. Could it be a faulty door contact signal, and where should I start troubleshooting? I read online about defective cables or plugs.

I had a similar problem with my Previa. Check the wiring harness in the door jamb. The wires often break from opening and closing the doors. Could be an easy fix.

Thanks! When you say wiring harness in the door jamb, should I check the connection to the door latch, or focus on the car alarm sensor first? I want to fix it myself if possible.

Mine was a break in the harness between the car body and the door. Given your symptoms and suspicion of a bad contact, I'd suggest a workshop. Diagnosis is hard without tools. I replaced a faulty wire for 95€. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the insight. I'll take my Previa to a mechanic. The wiring harness info is helpful. Good to know it's likely fixable without big replacements.
