Previa cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Toyota Previa diesel experienced a cruise control failure, with the dashboard light not illuminating and an error code present. Initial checks of fuses showed no issues, leading to speculation about a defective speed sensor, dodgy connection, or possibly a faulty clock spring. A suggestion was made to inspect cable and plug connections, which ultimately revealed a defective cable connection as the cause. The issue was resolved at a workshop, confirming the initial suspicion.

Interesting! I checked some fuses, but haven't really looked closely at the wiring. Where exactly should I be looking for these connections? Are they easy to access, or do I need to take half the dashboard apart?

Well, in my case, it was the cable or plug connection. I didn't find it myself. I took it to a local shop. The mechanic found the defective component. I would recommend you also visit a local workshop.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the workshop as you suggested, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective cable connection. 95€ later, and it's all fixed. Appreciate the help!

Strange. I had a similar problem with my Toyota Sienna. Cruise control packed it in, and it turned out to be a defective cable. Have you checked the cable and plug connections? Maybe that's where the error is.
