Previa Electric Seat Failure

My 2007 Toyota Previa with a gasoline engine has a malfunctioning passenger electric seat. An error is stored, and the seat won't adjust. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery be the problem? The car only has 82242 km on it. This is frustrating.

I had a similar issue with my Previa's power seats. Was it totally dead, or just moving intermittently? It seems weird that a battery would only affect one seat, like a fuse that popped, but stranger things have happened.

The seat is completely unresponsive; there is no movement whatsoever. Does it still seem likely that the battery is the cause, or should I explore other issues like a faulty seat switch or motor?

That's what mine did before I took it in. I was thinking I could fix it myself, but I didn't want to mess with the airbags. Complete failure usually means it's deeper than a simple switch. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop.

Based on your recommendation, I took the Previa to a workshop. You were spot on. The mechanic confirmed that the battery was the main reason. The repair cost 290€. Thanks for your insight!
