Previa keyless access fault

Alright, Previa heads, I'm tearing my hair out here. My 2013 Toyota Previa hybrid, with 133595 km on the clock, has developed a really annoying fault. The keyless access has completely stopped working. I ran a scan, and it's throwing up an error in the memory related to the door handle electronics. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or connector. Anyone else had this happen?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Toyota Previa hybrid is experiencing a keyless access fault, with an error related to the door handle electronics. The issue may be due to a faulty cable or connector. A similar problem was resolved by addressing the door actuator, suggesting a professional diagnosis might be necessary to pinpoint the exact fault. Booking a garage appointment is recommended to ensure a proper fix.

Interesting. I own a Previa as well, although not a hybrid, and I had a similar issue a while back. My keyless entry stopped working on the driver's side, and it turned out to be something with the door actuator. Did you check if maybe the door actuator doesn't work anymore? Can you still open the door manually with the key?

Thanks! The door opens manually fine, so the mechanical side seems okay. You mentioned the door actuator – did you diagnose that yourself, or did a mechanic figure it out for you? Was the error code the same? Trying to narrow down if it's worth me digging deeper myself or just biting the bullet and taking it to a garage.

Well, in my case I initially suspected the same thing you do, a wiring fault or something similar. I spent a good few hours checking connectors, but eventually gave up and took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed the actuator, though I'm afraid I can't recall the exact error code. Given that you've already got a stored error, you might be best served getting a professional to take a look; at least they can pinpoint the exact fault.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I'm probably chasing a similar ghost. I booked it in at the local garage; the estimate was 95€ to fix the defective cable or plug. Hopefully, that'll be the end of that!
