Previa Knock Sensor Issue

Hi, I have a 2012 Toyota Previa with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption and uneven idling. My local garage said the knock sensor is defective. Any ideas?

Hey there! That sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Renault a while back – warning light, poor performance. Have they checked the sensor's wiring? Could be a simple connection problem.

Wiring, huh? They mentioned the sensor itself. What kind of wiring problem are we talking about?

Well, in my case, it turned out to be a corroded plug. Like a bad phone charger connection, the signal was all messed up. They initially wanted to replace the whole sensor, but a closer look saved me a bunch. Best take it to a workshop before they charge you for a new sensor.

Thanks for the tip! You were right. It was indeed a defective cable/plug connection. The repair cost me 95€. Saved a lot!
