Could you give me more details about the issue with your Opel Astra? Were there any other symptoms besides the loss of radio control? Do you recall if the diagnostic error codes were similar?

Sure thing. Besides the radio controls not working, the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel also stopped responding. Honestly, I didn't get into the error codes myself; I just took it straight to the workshop. They told me it was something in the steering column electrics. Might be best to get it checked out by a professional.

I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. A defective cable connection within the steering wheel was indeed the cause. The repair cost was 95€. Thanks for the input; it helped guide my diagnosis.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The radio controls on the steering wheel went dead. Did you check the fuses related to the steering wheel or the infotainment system? That was the first thing the mechanic checked on my Astra.
