Previa transmission emergency mode
Summary of the thread
The 2016 Toyota Previa is experiencing transmission issues, with the transmission indicator and check engine lights on, and the vehicle stuck in emergency mode. The problem may be related to a defective radiator oil pressure sensor or a coolant leak. A suggested solution involves checking the cable and plug connections to the radiator, which was confirmed to be the issue and resolved by a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly should I be looking for this cable and plug connection? I'm not the most mechanically inclined, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Is it easy to spot, or do I need to get under the car?

It's usually near the radiator, connected to the pressure sensor. On my Insignia, it was a bit fiddly to reach. If you're not comfortable poking around, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Okay, thanks a lot for the help! It turned out to be exactly what you said – a defective cable connection. The workshop fixed it for 95€. You saved me a ton of worry!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old 2012 Opel Insignia. Same symptoms – transmission light, rough shifting, emergency mode. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the radiator? That was the cause in my case.
