Primastar ABS and Steering Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Primastar owner experienced a low tire pressure warning, ABS light activation, and steering issues, initially suspecting a simple air leak. A suggestion was made to check the tire valve, as a faulty valve could disrupt the tire pressure monitoring system, potentially affecting other systems like ABS and power steering. Upon inspection at a workshop, the problem was confirmed to be a defective tire valve, which was replaced, resolving the issues.

Interesting! So, you're saying a defective valve could trigger the ABS light and affect the power steering? That sounds a bit far-fetched. How exactly does that work?

Well, I'm no mechanic, but when my tire valve went bad, the tire monitoring system went haywire. Apparently, it messes with the car's computer, which then affects other systems. It's like a bad signal causing a chain reaction. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – turns out it was a defective valve in the tire. They replaced it, and everything's back to normal. Cost me around 280€ Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Primastar, although I can't say I know much about cars. Did you check the valve on the tires? Those tire pressure monitoring systems can be sensitive, and a faulty valve can cause all sorts of weirdness, almost like a domino effect.
