Primastar Battery Drain

I'm seeing a heavy battery discharge on my 2014 Nissan Primastar with a gasoline engine, around 213401 km on the clock. The speedometer shows an error, lights are weak, and there's an error stored. It's getting hard to start. I'm thinking it might be the battery sensor. Anyone else had this?

I had similar issues with my Primastar: error message and flickering lights. I thought it was the alternator, but it was the battery management system. Have you checked the voltage at the battery terminals, engine running and off? Are the terminals clean and tight? A loose connection can cause these symptoms.

Voltage seems okay when the engine's running, but drops a lot when it's off. Terminals are clean and tight. Can you tell me more about the battery management system issue you had?

The workshop's diagnostic equipment found a faulty battery sensor. It was reporting the wrong battery charge, which made the system overcompensate and drain the battery. Even if the voltage seems okay, a faulty sensor can still send bad data to the ECU. I'd get the battery sensor and battery management system checked by a technician. It could save time and damage. My repair was about 315€.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'll get the battery sensor and battery management system checked at a workshop, based on what you've said. Your insights have been really helpful.
