Primastar engine stalls at idle

I'm having a serious issue with my 2022 Nissan Primastar gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls at idle sometimes. It also feels like the engine power is way down. A local garage said the fuel volume regulator is defective, probably due to a defective high pressure pump. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what I should do? I'm kind of freaking out about the cost...

That sounds rough. A faulty fuel volume regulator can definitely cause those symptoms. Have you noticed any other issues like rough idling or engine misfires? Also, how many kilometers are on it?

Yeah, it idles pretty rough sometimes, especially when it's cold. Misfires, I'm not 100% sure, but it definitely doesn't sound smooth. The van has 135438 km on the clock. Is that high for a fuel pump to go?

Okay, rough idling plus the other symptoms and mileage points towards the high pressure pump being the culprit, which is causing the regulator issue. I'd say get a second opinion and a quote from a reputable workshop, just to be sure.
