Primastar Oxygen Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Nissan Primastar diesel is experiencing a check engine light and an oxygen sensor heater failure error, along with increased fuel consumption. The issue could be due to a faulty oxygen sensor or a poor connection. It is recommended to first inspect the wiring and connections on the exhaust system, as they are prone to exposure and potential failure. If the connections are intact, testing the sensor may be necessary before considering replacement.

Thanks! Where exactly should I be looking for this plug? Anywhere in particular prone to failing?

It's on the exhaust system so it's exposed to the elements. If the connection looks good, you might have to get the sensor tested, but it does sound like the same issue I had. It ended up being a faulty connection, workshop charged 95€. Worth a look before replacing the sensor, they are not cheap.

Cheers! I'll have a good look at the wiring first. If not I'll book it in for testing, sounds like that's the way to go.

Could be the O2 sensor. I had a similar issue with my Primastar. Check the cable and plug. It's like a dodgy light switch – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The error code might be misleading and it could be something simple.
