Primastar Transfer Case Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Nissan Primastar with around 99,000 km is experiencing gearbox slipping and unclean shifting, suspected to be due to a transfer case oil wear fault or defective gears. The issue is characterized by intermittent grinding noises, especially when the engine is warm. A similar case was resolved by addressing oil loss from the transfer case, which was causing the gears to wear against each other. The recommended solution is to have the transfer case checked and repaired to prevent further damage.

Grinding isn't constant, more intermittent. Only noticeable when the engine is warm. Did yours behave the same before you fixed it?

Yep, that's exactly what mine did before I took it in. Turned out to be oil loss from the transfer case as the gears were eating each other, best to get it checked out to prevent further damage I think

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Primastar. Any grinding noises, especially when changing gear? Almost feels like the gears are fighting each other.
