Primera diesel engine issues

Hi, I have a 2000 Nissan Primera with a diesel engine. I'm having some issues – reduced engine power, the check engine light is on, rough running, jerking when accelerating, and sometimes it even stalls at idle. The car has only done 44640 km. I'm thinking it might be something to do with the mixture preparation. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Primera. Is it running rich? Might be worth checking the injectors before you start looking at spark plugs or the catalytic converter. Has the air-fuel ratio been tested?

Well, honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. Eventually, the symptoms got worse, and I had to take it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and determined it was a defective injector. Basically the same symptoms as you describe. If you're not sure, I'd advise doing the same to avoid messing something up.
