Primera diesel engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Nissan Primera with a diesel engine is experiencing reduced power, a check engine light, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling at idle. The suspected issue is related to mixture preparation. A similar case was resolved by diagnosing and replacing a defective injector, which was confirmed by a workshop. The repair successfully addressed the problem.

Thanks for the tip! How did you figure out that it was the injectors? What were the exact symptoms you experienced?

Well, honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. Eventually, the symptoms got worse, and I had to take it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and determined it was a defective injector. Basically the same symptoms as you describe. If you're not sure, I'd advise doing the same to avoid messing something up.

Thanks for the advice. I suspected it could be something like that, but appreciate you sharing your experience. Took it to the workshop, and you were right – a defective injection valve. Repair cost me 515€. All sorted now!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Primera. Is it running rich? Might be worth checking the injectors before you start looking at spark plugs or the catalytic converter. Has the air-fuel ratio been tested?
