Primera water sensor error

Hi, my 2005 Nissan Primera diesel has been throwing up some errors lately. The check engine light is on, and the error memory says something about the water sensor. The engine is running a bit rough too. I had a look at the sensor, and the cables and plugs seem ok, but I'm no expert. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Nissan Primera diesel is experiencing a check engine light and rough engine performance, with an error related to the water sensor. The initial inspection of the sensor, cables, and plugs showed no visible issues. A similar past issue was resolved by addressing a cable or plug connection problem, suggesting a workshop visit for professional diagnosis and repair.

I had a similar issue with my Primera. It was the water sensor cable or plug connection. Check them properly. Do you know how to test a sensor?

Thanks for the tip! How did you figure out it was the cable? And no, I'm not really sure how to properly test the sensor itself. Is it difficult?

The malfunction indicator was always coming on. To be honest, I'm not great with the multimeter, so I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed the cable issue immediately. I would recommend you visit a workshop. It cost me 95€.

OK, thanks for the advice! I'll take it to the workshop and get them to have a look at the cable and plug connection. Hopefully, it's an easy fix like yours was.
