Prisma battery discharging
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevrolet Prisma experienced heavy battery discharge, weak lights, and engine starting issues, potentially due to a defective battery sensor. Initial suggestions included checking battery terminals and considering the battery's age. After professional diagnosis, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty battery sensor, and replacing it resolved the issues.

Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you experienced and how you resolved the issue? Were there any diagnostic steps to confirm the defective sensor?

Okay, so my lights were dimming, especially at idle, and the car struggled to start sometimes. I didn’t do any real diagnostics myself, I just took it to a workshop. They said it was a faulty sensor messing with the charging system. Probably best to get yours checked out by a professional.

Based on your recommendation, I took the vehicle to a service center. The diagnosis confirmed a defective battery sensor, and after its replacement, the issues have been resolved. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Whoa, sounds like my Prisma last year! I had similar issues. I’d check the battery terminals first, make sure they're clean and tight. Is the battery itself old? A weak battery can cause all sorts of weirdness. But yeah, could be the sensor too.
