Prisma incorrect fuel composition error

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2014 Chevrolet Prisma with a gasoline engine. The check engine light keeps coming on, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. I plugged in an OBD2 scanner, and it's showing an error related to incorrect fuel composition. I've only put gasoline from trusted gas stations, and the car has about 51346 km. I even tried some fuel additives, thinking maybe the fuel lines were dirty, but no luck. Could bad fuel be the issue? Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas what to check?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Chevrolet Prisma owner is experiencing a check engine light and engine stalling at idle, with an OBD2 scanner indicating an incorrect fuel composition error. Despite using gasoline from trusted stations and trying fuel additives, the issue persists. A suggested solution is to inspect the fuel composition sensor's cable and plug connections for looseness or corrosion, as a similar problem was resolved by replacing a faulty connector. The owner plans to consult a mechanic for further inspection and potential repair.

I had a similar issue with my Prisma (not sure about the year). Incorrect fuel composition error, stalling at idle... Sounds familiar. Have you checked the cable and plug connections of the fuel composition sensor? That was my problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is that sensor located, and what should I be looking for when I check the cable and plug connections? Any specific signs of damage or corrosion?

On mine, it was near the fuel rail. Look for a loose connection or corroded pins. Honestly, if you're not comfortable messing with the fuel system, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. In my case it was the connector. They charged me 95€ to replace it, and the problem was gone. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'm not too confident messing with fuel lines myself, so I'll take it to my local mechanic and ask them to check the fuel composition sensor's cable and plug connections. Hopefully, it's just that! I appreciate the help!
