Prius AC Not Working

I'm having a nightmare with my 2007 Toyota Prius (hybrid engine). The AC is completely dead! I'm getting an error code, the air conditioning blows warm air, doesn't even try to turn on, and the warning light on the dash is on. Could it be the refrigerant compressor? I'm pulling my hair out here!

Summary of the thread

The 2007 Toyota Prius is experiencing a complete failure of the air conditioning system, with symptoms including warm air, an error code, and a warning light. A potential cause could be a defective AC control unit, as suggested by another individual who faced similar issues. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where a previous case was resolved by replacing the AC control unit.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Prius. Have you checked the AC control unit? It might be defective. I remember someone mentioning that before, and it fixed it for them.

Interesting, thanks for the tip! Was it throwing the same symptoms? The compressor not kicking in at all?

Yep, exact same symptoms. Error in the memory, AC wouldn't switch on, warm air, the whole shebang. Eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They pinpointed it to the AC control unit. A costly repair, around 980€, but it sorted the issue completely.

Thanks a lot! I think I'll head to the workshop, then. Seems like it's the same problem as you had.
