Prius Low Brake Fluid

My 2022 Toyota Prius hybrid is showing a low brake fluid warning at 151868 km. I'm also getting strange feedback from the brake pedal. I've checked for leaks around the master cylinder and calipers, but everything seems dry. Could worn brakes be causing the reservoir level to drop?

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen in my Prius. The low fluid warning and weird pedal feel... I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Did you check the brake lines themselves really carefully? Sometimes those can be sneaky.

I gave the visible lines a once-over, but I wasn't crawling all over the undercarriage. When you say 'the exact same thing,' was it also low fluid with no visible leaks? What mileage were you at when this happened?

Yep, low fluid, no puddles anywhere. Drove me nuts! I was convinced I had a ghost leak. I can't recall the exact mileage, but it was definitely around the same ballpark as you. Honestly, just bite the bullet and get it checked out by a professional. It’s probably the brake pads, but you don't want to mess around with brakes. For me it was worn pads and the price for repair ended up being about 480€.

Thanks for the input! Sounds like I'll be heading to the shop then. I was hoping to avoid it, but better safe than sorry when it comes to brakes. I will share what the issue was.
