Prius passenger electric seat issue

I'm experiencing a recurring issue with the passenger electric seat in my 2016 Toyota Prius hybrid. The car has 115407 km on the clock. There's an error stored, and the seat adjustment is completely non-functional. I suspect it might be related to a heavily discharged or defective battery. I have checked the seat harness and the seat switch, but the issue persists. Any insights?

Summary of the thread

The passenger electric seat in a 2016 Toyota Prius is non-functional, with an error stored, possibly due to a heavily discharged or defective battery. Despite checking the seat harness and switch, the issue persists. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing power supply inconsistencies, suggesting a professional inspection. Ultimately, a workshop visit confirmed a defective battery as the cause, leading to a repair.

I extend my sincerest sympathies regarding the predicament you are facing with your Toyota Prius. I, too, encountered a vexing matter concerning the electric seat functionality within my erstwhile Volvo XC60. The symptoms, as you articulate, bear a striking resemblance to those I endeavored to resolve, namely, the recalcitrant adjustment of the seat. I humbly inquire, have you meticulously scrutinized the integrity of the power supply to the seat? Might there exist a disruption in the electrical continuity?

Thank you for your response. When you mention checking the power supply, could you be more specific? Did you experience any voltage drops or other anomalies that might point to a definitive cause?

Most assuredly. Upon closer examination, the power supply feeding the seat exhibited inconsistencies, fluctuating erratically and ultimately precipitating a complete cessation of functionality. Whilst I endeavored to rectify the situation through rudimentary means, I must confess that the complexities involved necessitated the expertise of trained professionals. As such, I would strongly recommend a visit to your local workshop.

I appreciate your thorough explanation and recommendation. Indeed, after a visit to the workshop, it was confirmed that the battery was defective and had caused issues with the seat. The repair cost came to 290€. Thank you for your help.
