Prius power loss rough running

Having trouble with my 2010 Toyota Prius (hybrid engine). 57k km on it. Notice a real drop in power, especially when accelerating. Check engine light is on, and sometimes I see smoke. It also runs really rough, and I'm getting worse fuel economy. It jerks a bit when I put my foot down, and there's this loud hissing noise. Sounds like it could be the EGR valve. Anyone else had similar issues? Could it be something else, maybe related to the emissions test?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Prius. Check engine light and rough idle were the first signs. Is it worse when the engine is cold?

Yeah, it does seem worse when it's cold. What was it in your case? Did you end up having it fixed?

Yep, it was the EGR valve. I’d suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks! I took it to the shop, and they said the EGR valve was indeed jammed. They replaced it, and it cost me 355€. Runs like new now! I really appreciate the help.
