Prius rail pressure sensor issue

I'm having trouble with my 2020 Toyota Prius hybrid. The check engine light is on, and the engine sometimes stalls when idling. Also, engine power is reduced. A scan shows an error code for a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. Could a defective pressure sensor cause these issues?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Toyota Prius hybrid is experiencing issues with the check engine light, engine stalling when idling, and reduced engine power. A diagnostic scan indicates a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. This defective sensor is likely causing the performance problems. The suggested solution is to have the sensor checked and potentially replaced by a mechanic.

I had a similar issue with my Prius: check engine light, rough idle, loss of power. Was the error code specific to the fuel rail pressure sensor?

Yes, the error code specifically mentions a faulty signal from the rail pressure sensor. Was that the same in your case? And if so, what was the eventual fix?

Yep, exact same sensor. It sounds like the sensor is the culprit. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop to be certain. A faulty signal from that sensor can cause all sorts of headaches with engine performance.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a trusted mechanic and have the pressure sensor replaced. The repair cost is estimated around 240€.
