Problem with keyless entry and flickering lights in Citroen C4 - experiences and solutions wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Citroen C4 is experiencing issues with keyless entry and flickering or dim lights. The problem might be related to a malfunction in the keyless entry system or a faulty ECU, as suggested by a similar case with a Citroen DS3. Although no fault codes are displayed and the battery appears fine, consulting a specialist or considering a system reset are recommended solutions.

Hi buddy, thanks for your help. My Citroenblinky has no fault code displayed on the dashboard. The battery seems to be fine and the voltages look good too. The car has 44,020 kilometers on the clock so far and the last service was quite recent. Maybe that will help. Thanks again, you've helped me a lot.

Hi colleague, thanks for the additional information! If your Citroen doesn't show an error code and the battery is in good condition, the problem could really be with the keyless entry system. I'm no expert, but it sounds like the ECU could possibly be the problem again, especially when you say you can't lock or unlock and the lights are flickering. If you're not a fan of high workshop costs, maybe you could find an independent specialist in your area to take a look. Sometimes resetting the system can also help, but if in doubt, you should really leave it to a professional. I hope I've been able to help you a little and wish you the best of luck with your Citroen!

Hey, that makes sense. I will certainly have a specialist look at it. I've also considered rebooting the system, but I'm worried about taking that risk without knowing for sure. I really appreciate your advice, it will definitely help me make the right decision. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Citroen DS3. I would say I have a small amount of car repair experience. I took the car to the garage and they found out that the ECU was faulty. It cost me 1000 euros! It was a lot of money, but afterwards the car worked great again. To help better, could you please tell me if you have any fault codes on the dashboard? Also, can you please confirm the exact condition of your battery? Is it holding a charge well? Are the voltages correct? This could help to narrow down the specific problem. Hope I was able to help!
