Problem with overheating and low coolant level in Ford Explorer petrol engine, model year 2008Hi guys, I've been having a strange problem with my 2008 Ford Explorer petrol engine for some time now. The warning light in the speedometer comes on, the car overheats and the coolant level is low. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be or have had similar problems? I would also be very interested to know how you solved this in the workshop and what your experiences were. Many thanks in advance for any tips!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! With the data, it could actually be due to the coolant level control, especially if the warning light comes on and the car overheats. I would definitely take a look at that. I actually had a similar problem after a certain mileage. I had the coolant changed and then everything was fine. It could well be that this will help you too. Keep us posted on what comes out of it. Good luck!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Ford Expedition (built in 2006), so pretty much the same model year. I would describe myself as a car expert with some experience. The garage found that there was a sporadic faulty communication problem between the control units. The solution to this problem cost me 955 euros. Now everything is running smoothly again. Can you perhaps give me some more information about your car? That would help me to look into the problem in more detail.
