Hey, thanks for the helpful information and the quick reply! My Peugeot now has 175752 KM on the clock, and the last service was about 15,000 KM ago. Sometimes it runs normally, but as soon as the "Check Engine" alarm lights up, the problems start. What really annoys me is that the error occurs sporadically, which makes troubleshooting a real test of patience. I'll definitely pass on your tips and hope that my garage gets the problem under control just like you did. Perhaps other people here have had similar experiences and can advise me on the best course of action. Thanks again, your answer was really helpful!

Hey, I'm glad to hear that my information was helpful to you! Yes, with the intermittent fault, troubleshooting is often a test of patience, but keep hope, it can certainly be solved. With my Peugeot, it was also the case that the fault didn't occur all the time and the car ran normally from time to time. I can only advise you to have the entire engine control network of your car checked. Reading out errors is a good start. In my case, it was the faulty communication between the control units that was causing the trouble; it will probably be similar in your case. Also check the fuel filter and the spark plugs. If they are clogged or damaged, these can also cause such symptoms. In any case, I wish you lots of patience and luck with your troubleshooting and hope that your car will soon be running smoothly again. If you have any further questions or uncertainties, please feel free to get in touch again!

Hey, great, thanks for the new tips. I'll follow your advice and have the entire engine control network checked. I will make special mention of the fuel filter and spark plugs. I really hope that the workshop now has all the information it needs to draw up a precise plan and fix the problem. I'm looking forward to the troubleshooting and hope that it will all work out. In any case, your advice and all the experience you've gathered have taken me a long way forward. If I have any further questions or uncertainties, I will not hesitate to contact you again. Thank you very much for your efforts!

Hi, I recently had a similar problem with my 2009 Peugeot 407 diesel, I only have some experience with cars so I decided to visit my garage. It took them 955 euros to solve this frustrating problem. According to them, sporadic faulty communication between ECUs was the cause of the complaints. It seems that the fault was popping up from time to time and affecting the wiring between the ECUs. They have therefore checked and cleaned the connection terminals and replaced some control units. This is just a general information to find the cause. It would be helpful if you could provide more details about your vehicle so we can help you better. Are there any other symptoms you have experienced? How does the car behave at other times when the engine is running? Any additional information could be useful.
