Problem with the brake light on the Toyota Auris, petrol model 2013

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Toyota Auris, petrol model 2013. The brake light no longer works and I suspect that the signal for the brake light is not correct. Do any of you know this problem and can give me some tips on how you fixed it or what was done in the workshop? I would be grateful for any experience!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Toyota Corolla, model 2011. I am not a master mechanic, but I do have some experience with cars. My problem was with the footwell module. I immediately had it repaired at my regular garage and it cost around 475 euros. To be able to help you better, I would need a few more details about your vehicle. What exact model and engine version does your Auris have? Did the previous owner make any changes to the vehicle? The more information we have, the better we can help you.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Well, my Auris is the classic 5-door sedan and has a 1.6 liter gasoline engine. As far as I know, nothing has been changed on the car - I've been driving it for 25,3068 kilometers now, and it's still been to the Toyota workshop for its last service. They are always quite precise about everything that has been changed. Hope that helps you!

Hi, thanks for the additional info! It looks like your Auris is just as reliable as my Corolla. With so many kilometers, it can happen that one or the other part gives up the ghost. There are a few possible causes for the brake light problem. It could be that the fuse has blown, the bulb is broken or the brake light switch is not working properly. Since you've driven so far, the brake light cable could also be damaged. I would suggest checking the simple things first. Look at the brake light fuse and bulb. If they are OK, the problem could be with the brake light switch. If you don't feel comfortable looking at it yourself, take it to a garage. They have the necessary know-how and the right tools to fix the problem. Hope this helps you!

Hello, many thanks for the tips! I will definitely check the fuse and light bulb. The brake light switch could of course also be the culprit. If I can't solve the problem myself, I'll take the car to the garage to be on the safe side. The people there have the right equipment and the experience to get such problems under control. So thanks again for your help!
